Year End Message from TIME Hotels CEO, Mohamed Awadalla
2021 has been a year of hope & recovery for the hospitality industry.
While 2020 brought us so much uncertainties and challenges, 2021 gave us a light of hope and new perspective - from the world-wide roll out of vaccines to the resumption of global travel & opening of international exhibitions like Expo 2020 - felt like a giant gulp of normalcy.
As the world recovers & the travel industry bounces back from the global pandemic, TIME Hotels remains focused on its mission of delivering international standards of hospitality service throughout the region.
I am grateful & proud of the team at TIME Hotels, for showing resilience in the face of unprecedented adversity. Together, we have reached new milestones in 2021.
Early this year, TIME Hotels launched its mobile app and contactless guest services in partnership with Neorcha. The implementation of innovative technology & the deployment of the app underscores our commitment to our guests by ensuring seamless interactions at every step of the customer journey.
Whilst the pandemic, we were able to open TIME Asma Hotel on June 2021. This new four-star property with a management team consisting entirely of women, including the hotel manager and 80% of the hotel’s employees.
Time Hotels also took over the management of the Al Muruj Hotel Apartments in Riyadh, our first property in the capital city and our second in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This year, we have also signed agreements to broaden our brand’s footprint from the Gulf to the Mediterranean. TIME Hotels will open its first two hotels in Egypt early next year and another luxury hotel in New Capital Egypt in 2023.
Given the fantastic work our team has undertaken, it will come as no surprise to learn that we have been awarded a series of accolades throughout 2021, including: Dubai Chamber CSR Label Award; TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award; Hotelier Middle East -Top 50 Young Hoteliers in the region, Middle East Hospitality Chef Excellence Awards; Middle East Hospitality Excellence Awards Commended HR Leader of the Year, Hotel of the Year (4 star), Young Chef of the Year and Facilities Management Company of the Year (TFM).
I believe 2022 will be a year of success and new beginnings.
With great pride, TIME Hotels will mark its 10th anniversary next year and we continue to develop our brand as a major player within the hospitality industry for the decades to come, delivering international standards of service throughout the region supported by signature warm and welcoming Arabian hospitality.
Since the launch of TIME Hotels in 2012, we have grown from our UAE base to develop a portfolio of multi-level branded properties with upcoming projects also set to open in Fujairah, Sudan, and Saudi Arabia as well as extending our presence to Egypt.
Looking to the future, I am confident our team at TIME Hotels will continue to prosper and overcome any challenges that will come our way. Early this month, a new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, has created uncertainty around safety norms and travel restrictions. With the implementation of our “Sanitised & Ready” campaign featuring a range of intensified cleaning & sanitization measures and with the support of UAE leadership to boost tourism, I remain positive that we will conquer this adversity once again.
We have built TIME Hotels’ success on providing exceptional service through our friendly and dedicated teams, and a unique collection of market-relevant properties providing outstanding value. This will continue to be the basis for TIME Hotels’ strategy moving forward.
